Fragments of Silence – The Max Itzikovitz Collection and Various Collectors Bernard Dulon
On the occasion of Parcours des Mondes, Bernard Dulon unveils his new exhibition entitled "Fragments of Silence".
A fragment can be the very essence of a work and, at times, a masterpiece shaped by the avatars of time. Some years ago, I wrote an article entitled Fragments of Intimacy, which spoke of love—of the love that often rests upon a “fragment” of a person unseen by others. The love that animates the art lover is of the same nature.
It sometimes rests on fragments that have gone unrecognized. His gaze creates or rediscovers forsaken beauty. He saves or resurrects this overlooked beauty and brings it into the world.
The objects on view join fragments of Greek statues and other remnants rescued from time, as archaeologists discover them—witness fragments, fragments that speak to our eyes, that bear witness to a vanished world. They are not unfinished works; they are symbols that connect us to the past. The scars of time sometimes reveal the beauty of the soul, as you will see in the marvelous objects that Max Itzikovitz and Bernard Dulon unveil in this exhibition.
Learn to perceive their beauty, as they themselves have.
