Who is Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière?
We are honoured to unveil our new Honorary President for the 2025 edition of Parcours des mondes.
Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, Honorary President of the 24th edition of Parcours des mondes.
It is a privilege to once again count on the commitment of Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière as Honorary Chairman of the 2025 edition of Parcours des Mondes, to be held from September 9 to 14. His presence and involvement in 2024 marked our previous edition and contributed to the influence of the arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas.
For more than three decades, Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière commits to the cultural sector, and is the founder of the Fondation Culture & Diversité and a founding member of the Fondation du Patrimoine. At the request of President Jacques Chirac, he was the linchpin of the Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi for ten years, from its conception to its inauguration in 2017.
Elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts (Institut de France) in 2005 and appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Diversity, he recently renewed his commitment to the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, making possible the staging of two annual exhibitions. In 2025, he has also finance the refurbishment of the “Pavillon des Sessions”, where the Louvre exhibits masterpieces on loan from the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac. As such, it is the Louvre's leading partner in the “renaissance of the Louvre” announced by the French President.
At the dawn of this new edition, we are deeply honored to have him by our side once again.
