The Mingei Gallery specializes in the ancient arts and contemporary decorative arts of Japan. Located in the heart of the Parisian district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the gallery is run by Philippe Boudin and his daughter Zoé Niang. The gallery is renowned for its thematic exhibitions and monographs devoted to artists.
The Mingei Gallery is the ambassador of Japanese bamboo basketry. It is the most important European gallery that promotes this specialty. The exhibition "FENDRE L'AIR - The art of bamboo in Japan" (November 27, 2018 until April 7, 2019) at the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac has largely contributed to the recognition of this art in Europe.
