Gauchet Art Asiatique Asian Arts
Founded in 2010 by art expert Jean Gauchet, the Gauchet Art Asiatique gallery aims to promote the richness of Asian art in France and abroad. Assisted since 2022 by Anna Kerviel, also a specialist in the arts of Asia, the gallery has thus developed with passion and commitment, with the desire to create a bridge between cultures, and by offering an immersive experience at the heart of the artistic wealth of China, Japan, South Asia and India.
Biography
Jean Gauchet is the founder of the Gauchet Art Asiatique gallery. Originally from the South of France, Jean Gauchet descends from a line of art collectors and dealers. After assisting his family in their Western fine art and decoration businesses in Nice and Miami, he moved to Shanghai to study the Asian art market. His interest in Asian art and antiques began at an early age. His many stays in China and East Asia have enriched his knowledge of the art, customs, languages and diverse cultural aspects these countries have to offer. Thanks to his experience in various fields of the art world, he brings his expertise to auction houses, private collectors, museums and major corporations worldwide. He is a member of the Oriental Ceramic Society in London and an expert in Asian art for the Chambre Européenne des Experts-Conseil en Oeuvre d'Art in Paris (CECOA).
Anna Kerviel joined Gauchet Art Asiatique as an associate in 2022. A graduate of the École du Louvre and the Sorbonne in Far Eastern Art History research, then co-director of the Asian Art department at a Paris auction house for two years, she has been cultivating her passion for Asian Art for over ten years.
