A trained art historian and a member of the Compagnie Nationale des Experts (CNE), Nicolas Rolland has been an established tribal art dealer for nearly ten years. His gallery is located at 7 rue Visconti in Paris, in the heart of the city’s historical tribal art neighborhood. With his passionate interest in the cultures of sub-Saharan Africa and Oceania, he has published and co-authored of a number of major reference works. These include Afrique, à l’ombre des dieux. Collections africaines de la Congrégation du Saint-Esprit (winner of the PILAT (International Tribal Art Book Prize) in 2017); Galerie Pigalle : Afrique, Océanie. 1930. Une exposition mythique (winner of the PILAT in 2018). He is also active as an exhibition curator and scientific consultant, and participated in that capacity in the creation of the new Musée Spiritain des Arts Africains (MUSAA).
