Art of Oceania and Africa
« My passion for tribal art was born during a four year African overland journey in the 1990s. I started with a ferry to Tangier, continued across the Sahara, over mountains, up and down the Niger, Sangha and Congo rivers. I walked to remote villages, saw festivals and masked ceremonies and danced all night to drumming as the only outsider present. By the time I reached Cape Town it was with the huge grin of satisfaction that adventure brings. This was living!
My knowledge and collecting grew and in 2005 I changed career to follow this passion and become a dealer, leasing a stand in the famous Portobello Road Antiques Market. Now almost a decade later I am proud to participate in the Parcours des Mondes, bringing interesting and rare objects that collectors can see, hold and discuss. »
